An Air Purifier for the Bedroom: Why You Need One

A reported 40% of Americans say they have trouble staying awake throughout the day—a silent number that can have a large impact on society. Sleep deficiencies can interfere with social functioning and lead to chronic health problems, including heart disease, obesity, and high blood pressure.
Between sleeping and relaxation, it’s important to keep your atmosphere clean and comfortable. Here are a few reasons why having an air purifier in your room can help you set a good precedent for the day ahead.
Why Does My Bedroom Need an Air Purifier?
Sleep is a time for you to rejuvenate your body and reset your system for the next day. However, as you lie in bed, you are at the mercy of the elements around you. If you sleep with your windows shut and don’t use a central air system, the air in your room may become stagnant, retaining airborne contaminants. Smoke and odors from cooking, candles, and fireplaces can linger in the air, and pollutants from other rooms or apartments can make their way into your bedroom.
How an Air Purifier Can Help
An air purifier not only circulates your air, but also traps fine airborne pollutants to where you won’t breathe them in. Additionally, you may find the soft white noise of the machine soothing as you unwind and let your thoughts relax into a restful sleep.
Find an air purifier with 3-stage filtration. These air purifiers use a Pre-Filter, Main Filter, and Activated Carbon Filter to trap large airborne particles and fine airborne contaminants, as well as help neutralize smoke, odors, fumes, and VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
Our Helpful Sidekick
Refresh your bedroom with the Vital 200S Smart Air Purifier. Not only does this air purifier have 3-stage filtration, but its host of helpful settings allow you to customize your experience. When in Sleep Mode, the Vital 200S will automatically adjust the fan speed to keep noise levels at a minimum, all while creating a cleaner bedroom atmosphere while you snooze.
How Long Should You Run Your Air Purifier?
Run your air purifier as often as you need to keep your atmosphere feeling clear and comfortable. If you’d like to eliminate the need for guesswork, many of our air purifiers
(including the Vital 200S) provide real-time air quality readings and can automatically adjust the fan speed based on the room’s air quality with Auto Mode.
How to Maintain Your Bedroom Air Purifier
Ensure fresh air by regularly changing your air purifier’s filter.
If your air purifier has a Check Filter Indicator, it will light up as a reminder to check the filter. Depending on how often you use the air purifier and the air quality of your environment, the indicator should turn on about every 6–12 months. You may not need to change your filter yet, but you should check it when the indicator lights up.
If your air purifier is set up with the VeSync app, you can also check the app to see the remaining filter life. You will also receive a notification from VeSync when it’s time to check your filter.
