Our air purifiers help trap airborne pet dander and other pollutants that can be associated with discomfort and poor air quality; however, it's crucial to consult a licensed medical professional for diagnosis and treatment.
What are the common pollutants introduced by pets in a home?
Pet dander and pet fur come off your pet as they walk, run, and play. Pets can also track in pollen and tiny dirt particles from outside.
Can an air purifier remove pet hair and dander?
Yes, an air purifier can help trap airborne pet hair and dander. It will not, however, remove pet fur and dander that has already landed on floors and furniture.
How often should I replace the filters in my Levoit air purifier when used in a home with pets?
If your air purifier has a Check Filter Indicator, it will light up as a reminder to check the filter. Depending on how often you use the air purifier, the indicator should turn on about every 12 months. You may not need to change your filter yet, but you should check it when the indicator lights up.
If your air purifier is set up with the VeSync app, you can also check the app to see the remaining filter life. You will also receive a notification from VeSync when it’s time to check your filter.
How often should I run my air purifier to manage pet odors?
As often as you need to reduce the odor. For strong smells, we recommend changing your air purifier’s fan speed to the highest level until the smell has dissipated, or utilizing our helpful Pet Mode through the VeSync app.*
