Teaching Kids How To Put Their Well-Being First

  • 1 min read

Every August, we bid our goodbyes to summer and get ready for school to start. With the return to school and fun also come the return of your typical classroom germs. Here are a few tips to set your child up for success as they learn how to prioritize their well-being.

Fuel Right

This not only involves hearty breakfasts and nutritious snacks, but also staying hydrated. Schools do their best to provide water fountains around the building, but sending your kid to school with their own personal water bottle will ensure access to hydration whenever they need it.

Practice Handwashing

Kids tend to rush through mundane tasks like washing their hands. Try teaching them a little 20-second song to sing while they wash their hands to help them practice proper handwashing.

The Vampire Sneeze

Teach your kids a fun alternative to sneezing into their hands or into the open air: the vampire sneeze. An action reminiscent of the way a vampire might hide his face in the elbow of his cloak, the vampire sneeze gives kids a way to prevent germs from spreading when they don’t have tissues on hand.

Fresh Air

You can’t control their environment at school, but you can control their environment at home. And we’re not talking about a cluttered or messy home—parenthood is busy enough. But! Did you know there’s a way to keep your home feeling fresh no matter how “tidy” it is?

Even if you haven’t deep cleaned in weeks, an air purifier can help make any room feel as if you have by constantly refreshing the air. Our helpful sidekick: The compact Vital 100S is perfect for a kid’s bedroom. With 3-stage filtration, it removes pollutants such as airborne dust, pet dander, pollen, odors, and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from cleaning supplies. Set it up against the wall to leave space for playtime and conveniently change settings from your phone.

Helpful Humidity

If your kid complains about a dry or scratchy throat, it could be due to dry air. A humidifier helps you put moisture back into your air with ease.

Our helpful sidekick: The Dual 200S doubles as a humidifier and essential oil diffuser, making it a great addition to any kid’s room. The top-fill tank makes refills spill-free while smart control enables you to control settings without disturbing your little one’s sleep.
